About This Role

We're teaming up with a distinguished partner in the engineering domain and are on the lookout for a skilled Mechanical Engineer. In this role, the successful candidate will work alongside general supervision and direction on full-scale projects, contributing as a team member across diverse sectors under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience
  • General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for projects of average complexity/size
  • Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all mechanical systems or products for a project, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices
  • Engage in the development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats
  • Utilize BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of building mechanical systems
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various mechanical phases, including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating
  • Assist upper-level staff in developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents
  • Perform and oversee the performance of calculations using company standard software
  • Utilize advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized building mechanical elements
  • Participate in constructibility reviews
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects
  • Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the mechanical group
